# Connect Cursor

> Add the Flowkiwi MCP server to Cursor with an mcp.json entry.

This page connects Cursor to the MCP server of a Flowkiwi instance. Read [Connect an AI agent (MCP)](/mcp/) first for the sign-in, access levels and troubleshooting.

Sign in and pick your instance to fill your server URL into the snippets below (optional, the sign-in only serves the docs):

## Add the server

Cursor reads its MCP servers from an `mcp.json` file:

- `.cursor/mcp.json` in a project, for that project only;
- `~/.cursor/mcp.json` in your home folder, for all your projects.

Add the Flowkiwi server under `mcpServers`:

```json title=".cursor/mcp.json"
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "flowkiwi": {
      "url": "https://<tenant>.product-management.flowkiwi.net/api/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Flowkiwi-Api-Version": "2026-07"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

The `headers` block is optional; it pins the [API version](/mcp/#choose-the-api-version).

> **No OAuth credentials to add**
>
> Cursor's `auth` block (static client id and secret) is not needed: Cursor registers itself with Flowkiwi automatically. Leave it out.

## Sign in

When Cursor connects to the server for the first time, it starts the Flowkiwi sign-in in your browser. Sign in, pick the organization and the access level on the consent screen, and go back to Cursor.

You can enable, disable and configure your MCP servers from **Customize** in the Cursor sidebar.

## Use it

Ask the agent about your catalog, for example: "List the draft products of the Kitchen category". By default, Cursor asks your approval before it runs an MCP tool and shows the arguments it sends.

> **Several instances**
>
> Access is bound to one instance URL. Add one entry per instance, with a distinct name such as `flowkiwi-acme` and `flowkiwi-acme-staging`.
