# Retrieve a metafield

> Retrieve a single metafield on an owner record.

`GET /rest/api/{ownerResource}/{ownerId}/metafields/{id}`

Retrieves a Metafield resource.

Returns a single metafield by id on the given owner record, including its `value` and the [definition](/api/product-management/metafield-definitions/) it belongs to.
